Located beside the Regent's Canal in Mile End, the Ragged School Museum occupies former warehouses that once housed one of Dr Thomas Barnardo's pioneering schools.
Through recreated classrooms, interactive displays and historic collections, visitors can explore what everyday life was like for East End families during the Victorian era. The museum brings to life the challenges faced by children growing up in one of London's poorest districts and the efforts made to improve education and opportunity.
